Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Richmond Schools family. We hope your children enjoy their school journey just as the many graduating classes who came before them. Richmond Schools is delighted to have them with us and is proud to welcome them as a valuable addition to our learning community.

This document has been prepared to clarify information that may be unfamiliar to you as new members of our school and to address some common questions.

1. School Uniform:

What About the School Uniform?

All students are expected to attend school wearing the official Richmond Schools uniform.
The Richmond Schools Uniform Shop is conveniently located on campus. Parents may purchase uniform items on any working day from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

To check item availability before visiting, or to place an order for pickup, please contact the school.

Where Can I Purchase the Uniform?

Richmond Schools has an on-campus Uniform Shop that operates during regular school hours.

Do Uniform Items Need to Be Labeled?

Yes, all students’ belongings must be clearly labeled.

What School Supplies Should My Child Bring?
  • The supplies list shared by the school

  • All students should attend school on their first day with at least a notebook and a pen

3. Learning Support:

The Learning Support Services Department at Richmond IB International School supports students in PYP–MYP who have mild learning difficulties and/or experience challenges accessing the curriculum due to English language needs or a requirement for specific teaching approaches.

The department’s goal is to empower and develop these students so they can independently meet the demands of the IB curriculum. The Learning Support Services Team works closely and collaboratively with classroom teachers, using inclusive strategies and available resources to help students reach their full potential and successfully access the mainstream curriculum.

4. Eligibility for Learning Support Services:

A student may be eligible for Learning Support Services if they:

  • Have an identified learning disability, and/or

  • Demonstrate English language skill gaps that limit access to the curriculum

4. Learning Support Services Include:

  • Identifying students in need through classroom observations, as well as cognitive, academic, and achievement assessments

  • Supporting teachers in developing and implementing inclusive teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs

  • Planning, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Providing appropriate accommodations (e.g., extended test time, laptop use)

  • Offering one-on-one and small-group instruction to address specific skills, needs, or subject areas

  • Delivering targeted small-group English language support

All Learning Support Services are provided on campus during the school day, ensuring consistent and integrated support for students within the school environment.
