Playgrounds and Fields:

Our vibrant playgrounds and expansive PYP, MYP & DP sports fields inspire active minds and healthy bodies, turning every day into a celebration of sport, play, and possibility. Richmond (RIS) offers:

  • Full football field

  • Basketball courts

  • Bowling

  • PlayStation

  • Outdoor swimming pools

  • Water polo facilities

These facilities support students’ physical wellbeing, balance, and teamwork.

Classrooms:

Our modern classrooms are purposefully designed to support inquiry-based learning. Spacious and well-lit, they accommodate up to 20 students, creating an environment that encourages collaboration and engagement.

Science Labs:

Learning comes alive in our purpose-built Physics, Biology, and Chemistry laboratories, where students investigate, experiment, and develop scientific understanding through hands-on, inquiry-based experiences.

ICT Lab:

The school’s ICT labs support the IB philosophy of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning. Students use technology to research, create, collaborate, and reflect, developing key Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills such as:

  • Thinking

  • Communication

  • Research

  • Self-management

The ICT labs promote responsible and ethical use of digital tools and support students in becoming confident, informed, and internationally minded learners in a digital world.

Art Room:

The Art Room at Richmond Schools is a vibrant, inquiry-based learning space aligned with the IB philosophy, where creativity, reflection, and student voice are central to the learning experience. Students explore a wide range of media and techniques while developing conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and self-expression.

Through guided inquiry and meaningful artistic processes, the art room encourages learners to connect art to culture, identity, and global contexts, nurturing IB learner profile attributes such as:

Robotics & STEAM:

Robotics and STEAM learning at Richmond Schools support the development of key Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including:

Through age-appropriate, hands-on experiences, students explore problem-solving, creativity, and innovation. From playful exploration in the Early Years, to inquiry-based learning in the PYP, and design-focused applications in the MYP, robotics and STEAM prepare students to think critically, work collaboratively, and engage confidently with future challenges.

Clinic:

Our school clinic supports the health and wellbeing of students and is equipped with examination facilities and a separate isolation area to ensure appropriate care and safety. The clinic provides timely attention in a safe, supportive environment.

Library:

The school library is a central learning hub that supports the IB philosophy of inquiry-based learning. It provides a wide range of print and digital resources that promote research, critical thinking, and independent learning.

Through guided access to information and opportunities for collaboration, the library supports the development of ATL skills and nurtures knowledgeable, reflective, and lifelong learners.

Theatre:

Arts education at Richmond Schools plays a key role in developing the IB Learner Profile attributes:

  • Communicators: Students express ideas, emotions, and stories through drama, music, and performance using a variety of creative forms.

  • Risk-takers: Learners build confidence by performing, experimenting with artistic choices, and sharing their work with audiences.

  • Thinkers: Students make creative decisions, solve problems, and reflect on how to improve their performances.

  • Open-minded: Engagement with different art forms, cultures, and perspectives encourages appreciation and respect for diversity.

  • Balanced: Participation in the arts supports emotional wellbeing and personal balance alongside academic learning.

Resources:

The school is supported by a well-equipped resource department and classroom-based resource rooms. Full-time support staff assist teachers with preparation and materials, enabling the consistent delivery of engaging and interactive learning experiences for primary students.

Buses & Transportation:

The school provides a safe and reliable bus service covering multiple areas across Riyadh. Students are transported to and from home on a scheduled basis to ensure efficiency and consistency.

All buses are:

  • Air-conditioned

  • Supervised by trained bus matrons

Bus matrons accompany students throughout the journey, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and appropriate behavior at all times.
