3. Sports:

The Learning Support Services Department at Richmond International School supports students in PYP–MYP who may experience challenges accessing the curriculum due to English language proficiency or who benefit from specific instructional approaches.
The department’s goal is to equip and develop these students so they can independently meet the demands of the IB curriculum.

4. Performing Arts:

At Richmond International School, the Performing Arts program is an integral part of the IB educational experience, encompassing expressive shows (expressive dance), drama, and music within a concept-driven, inquiry-based curriculum.

The program supports the development of the whole child by fostering creativity, communication, and reflection, with performance and presentation to an audience serving as meaningful learning outcomes.

Students engage in a wide range of performance experiences, from inquiry-based classroom showcases and assemblies to annual concerts in both English and Arabic, progressing to larger public productions such as plays and musicals. These opportunities encourage students to apply skills, reflect on their learning, and collaborate effectively, while expressing their ideas and identities through the arts.

As a growing department, the Performing Arts program at Richmond provides authentic, hands-on learning experiences for PYP and MYP students that align with IB Approaches to Learning—particularly communication, collaboration, and self-management skills. Within a vibrant and supportive environment, students are encouraged to explore their artistic potential, take creative risks, and engage as reflective, balanced, and open-minded members of an IB learning community that values performance as a powerful form of expression and learning.

5. Community Service:

At Richmond School, community service is an integral part of our IB-aligned educational philosophy, encouraging students to take meaningful action and contribute positively to their communities. Through collaborative efforts between the Student Council and school clubs, students lead and participate in annual initiatives.

These experiences go beyond fundraising; they nurture the development of IB Learner Profile attributes such as caring, principled, and reflective, while strengthening leadership, collaboration, and social awareness. Students actively support important causes, including breast cancer awareness and autism awareness, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and empathy.

Community service at Richmond Al-Kheir reflects the IB belief that learning extends beyond the classroom and is rooted in action. By engaging in purposeful service, students deepen their understanding of global and local issues, build meaningful connections, and recognize the impact they can have as active, compassionate members of society.

6. Richmond Al-Kheir:

Welcome to Richmond Al-Kheir

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in our shared commitment to serving others and creating positive change. At Richmond School, service is deeply embedded in our IB philosophy, where students are encouraged to take meaningful action, develop empathy, and contribute responsibly to their communities.

Since its inception, Richmond Al-Kheir has been dedicated to supporting those in need. Our community has worked with purpose and care to support vulnerable individuals, guided by the IB belief that education empowers students to make a difference beyond the classroom.

Through Richmond Al-Kheir, students develop IB Learner Profile attributes such as caring, principled, open-minded, and reflective, while strengthening collaboration and leadership skills. Together, students, parents, and staff form a supportive community that values service as a pathway to learning, growth, and global citizenship—demonstrating that meaningful action lies at the heart of an IB education.

7. Student Council:

At Richmond School, Student Representative Councils are established across different school sections to ensure strong student voice and meaningful participation. Separate councils operate within PYP7–MYP, providing age-appropriate opportunities for leadership and representation.

Membership in the Student Representative Council enables students to actively engage in school life as elected representatives of the wider student body. Through a democratic election process, students exercise choice, responsibility, and agency—key principles of an IB education.

Student representatives play an important role in communicating their peers’ ideas, interests, and concerns to teachers, section heads, and school leadership. This collaboration supports open dialogue and shared decision-making while developing IB Learner Profile attributes such as communicator, principled, and reflective.

Participation in the Student Representative Council also provides authentic opportunities for students to lead and contribute to community-focused initiatives. Council members support projects that raise awareness of community needs, assist in organizing school events, and collaborate with school leadership during periods of growth and change.

Through these real-life experiences, Richmond students develop leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom. The Student Representative Council embodies the IB commitment to action, empowering students to contribute positively to their school community while growing as engaged, responsible global citizens.

At Richmond School, we believe that education is the key to a brighter future. We provide an inspiring and supportive learning environment that helps students unlock their full potential, both academically and personally.
